What to Expect:

Newborn Lifestyle Photography

Congratulations on your new baby! Thank you for choosing me to capture those sweet moments in the early days after your baby's arrival. I am honored to work with your family, and I truly feel blessed to work with such little miracles.

Tips for Preparing Your Home

After bringing baby home, you will likely be experiencing a whirlwind of adjustment and fatigue. The last thing I want you to stress about is having your home in perfect condition for a photo shoot. Having four babies of my own, I understand that postpartum life well and will never judge or need to be impressed. A photographer's best kept secret is what things really look like behind the scenes, and it will amaze you what we can do with a space by just moving items around and creating our own picture-perfect space.

We will most likely work in the master bedroom & nursery if you have one. White or light bedding is preferred, and I have a white queen sized comforter if it's needed. Natural light isn't a must as I'll bring my own light. I will also bring a posing beanbag for the baby and a neutral backdrop fabric. The space will need to be quite warm, so be prepared to turn up the heat or pull out a space heater. If you need me to bring the white bedding set or heater, please let me know.

Tips for Preparing Baby

Before the shoot, please feed baby 2-3 hours prior, and plan on feeding him/her as soon as I arrive. Please do your best to not let him/her sleep beforehand. Ideas for keeping the baby awake: giving a bath, unswaddle and let kick with only a diaper, tickle toes, and even let him/her fuss for a little bit. This will help us get those sleepy poses!  Please have your baby undressed down to a diaper, or in a loose fitting outfit that snaps in the front for easy removal.

Sessions last between 2-3 hours, sometimes longer if baby is hungry or a light sleeper. The easiest way to ensure a sleepy baby is the willingness to nurse/bottle feed off and on.  Please have a pacifier available for use during the session. Even if you haven't used one, it is very helpful during those few hours.

I prefer for each session to be unique, so please provide any desired headbands, hats, matching swaddles, etc. I have a variety of stretch wraps available for use, and will bring them with me.

For Mom & Dad

Photographing the connection between you and your new baby is such a tender and sweet part of the session.

Dads: please wear a nice fitting t-shirt that is in a neutral color, free from logos or distracting images. Plan on wearing jeans or comfortable slacks.

Moms: I recommend a flowy, textured top or maxi dress. Keep the color neutral and design simple. Make sure you are comfortable, as it will be quite warm.

For Siblings

Keep things simple when including any siblings. Hairbows and accessories are beautiful, but often get rumpled or off-center if we are working with wiggly ones. Please consider calmly talking with your child about your expectations beforehand, but also try not to have high expectations of them cooperating. These poses are so precious, and parents can often become easily frustrated when it may not go as planned. Rest assured that I have excellent tricks up my sleeve to get the best shots as possible. If possible, having Grandma or someone that can care for siblings in-between when we need them is highly recommended.

After the Session

After we finish photographing your session, I will be hard at work behind the scenes preparing your gallery. I curate the very best poses and shots, and retouch each by hand. Your gallery will have 20-25 images depending on family size. You can expect to receive the gallery within 14 days. Depending on the chosen collection, you will also receive instructions on picking out images and details for your canvas wrap and custom album.

I am thrilled to work with your family. Please call or text me if you have any questions.
